Position Overview
We are looking for experienced Welders and Fabricators to join growing manufacturing operations in Decatur, Alabama. This role involves MIG, TIG, and stick welding on a variety of metals in a production environment supporting aerospace, defense, and heavy industrial clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform MIG, TIG, and/or stick welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
- Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings
- Lay out, fit, and tack weld components prior to final welding
- Operate grinders, cutting torches, plasma cutters, and other fabrication equipment
- Inspect welds visually and with measuring instruments to ensure quality standards are met
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance on welding equipment
- Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with safety protocols
- Collaborate with fabrication team leads to meet production deadlines
Requirements
- 2+ years of welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication shop environment
- Proficiency in at least two welding processes (MIG, TIG, Stick)
- Ability to read blueprints and weld symbols
- Experience with carbon steel, stainless steel, and/or aluminum
- AWS welding certification is a plus but not required
- High School diploma or GED required
- Ability to work in various positions (standing, kneeling, overhead) and lift up to 50 lbs
- Must pass drug screen and background check
Compensation and Benefits
- $20-28/hr based on certifications and experience
- Weekly pay
- Temp-to-hire after 90 days
- Overtime available
